Day 28

Today I went to see the doctor, so I didn't use that much media. It turns out I have pneumonia. Anyways, while I was in the waiting room I read a couple magazines and watched the discovery channel. After I was diagnosed, I let all my friends on Facebook know. I listened to the radio on the way home and went straight to bed. I just woke up after sleeping 5 hours to update my blog, but now I am gonna go back to sleep. This research project was fun because it confirmed one thing, I cannot live without media! I literally need it to survive. Life wouldn't be fun without it. It really is one of the most important aspects of my life.

Day 27

I'm really sick so I stayed in bed most of the day. I didn't really get to do anything except text and watch tv. I only checked my Facebook once today. I'm gonna play a few matches in Call of Duty and then call it a night.

Day 26

Today was good, real good. I checked my Facebook around 20 times and I played some Call of Duty. I watched the Astros and read some tweets on Twitter. I checked my email and entered a sweepstakes online. I chatted with a friend on Yahoo Messenger and texted a couple people. Media is awesome.

Day 25

Finally life is fun again! I got to catch up on the following shows: America's Got Talent, Master Chef, Hell's Kitchen, and True Blood. There is more to come in the following days. I am glad I didn't have to do this project during the NFL season. That would've been hell. I also got to finally be on Facebook! This was the thing I missed the most. I missed reading my friends' posts and whatnot. I haven't been this happy since the time I got my power back after hurricane Ike.

Day 24

Today I listened to the "Amen Break" video on YouTube. I didn't really understand it, so I was bored for the most part. I had to do a lot of research to make it look like I did though. I went to a lot of sites and gathered more information. I guess I wasn't that attentive this time because it was complicated. All I learned was that the copyright law is stupid. I finished my post pretty late, around the time America's Got Talent was starting. I knew this was Vegas week because my family has been giving me updates. I wish I could've seen it. I'm glad it got recorded though!

Day 23

Today I spent around 5 hours or so reading the textbook for the 3rd exam. I'm disappointed in how I did, but life goes on. I don't think 50 minutes was enough time to complete it. I want to watch tv to get my mind off of it, but I can't do that either. This is a frustrating week!

Day 22

I finally got to be on YouTube today, but only because I had to listen to the War of the Worlds radio broadcast. At first I thought it was gonna be a boring video, but it was actually pretty interesting. It made me think about how life was in the 1930s. I took my time watching it, and kept playing back certain parts of the video so I could write a good post in my introduction to mass communication course. I was definitely more attentive than usual because I hadn't been on YouTube in a while. I got to enjoy the moment. I paid close attention and took down notes on Microsoft Word.

Day 21

Normally I would've woke up to my alarm, but today my brother woke me up since I couldn't use it. I wanted to get online and check the latest in the Zimmerman trial but my family told me instead. I am pretty sure a lot of my friends on Facebook are upset about the verdict, but I cannot see their reactions. A lot of my family came over so much of my time was spent cooking and hanging out with them.

Day 20

Today my sister and nieces visited so much of my time was spent with them. I had cleaned up the house before they came. My nieces forced me to watch cartoons and play video games. I couldn't say no to them. My sister had put the radio on full blast so I had no choice but to listen. Other than that, I played outside with my nieces for most of the day.

Day 19

Today wasn't that boring because I was busy running errands with my mom. I did not have time to be on Facebook even if I wanted to. We spent about 5 hours shopping at the mall. I didn't use any media except for the radio in the car and using my phone to call my mom. I had to call her because we would split up and I had to tell her where I was.

Day 18

For the majority of the day I just sat in my room and stared at the wall. There is nothing fun to do that doesn't include technology. I purchased a mattress online for my mom because she don't know how to use a computer. I had no choice. I also had to text my mom and brothers for personal reasons. Other than that, I just slept and ate food.

Day 17

I don't know how much longer I can take it. I miss watching television and reading my friends' posts on Facebook. I miss texting and playing video games. I've always known life without media sucks, and this project is just confirming it. The only media related thing I did today was read some magazines while I waited for the eye doctor. Oh and I listened to the music in the waiting room too.

Day 16

Today was another boring day for the most part. I did go to Buffalo Wild Wings though, so I got to watch Sportscenter there and listen to the radio. I only texted when I had to reply to my mom. I asked my little brother to check my Facebook for me. I don't think this counts as me using media. For the rest of the day I shall clean my room.

Day 15

Today was the most boring day I have had since hurricane Ike. I remember those dreadful two weeks when we had no power and I couldn't get on the internet and visit sites. I am pretty sure this will be no different. It sucks not being able to use media. I am glad there was no television shows that I watch today. The Voice ended a few weeks ago so there's nothing to watch on Mondays. However, tomorrow America's Got Talent will be on. I constantly fought the urge to check my Facebook, and I succeeded. The only media I used was my phone and the radio because I was in my mom's car and she makes the rules in it. I used my phone to text her as well. I don't think I'll be as strong tomorrow.

Day 14

This morning I woke up to the alarm on my phone. I had to wake up early because I was expecting a package. While I was waiting for it, I watched the Wimbledon Men's Final. When the package finally arrived, I hopped on my laptop and checked my Facebook/email. I beat a few levels on Candy Crush too. Throughout the day I texted my friends and listened to the radio whenever I left the house. Now I am about to watch True Blood and a few cartoons.

Day 13

Today I spent most of my time studying for the 2nd exam in this class. When I finished the exam, I got on Facebook and watched tv.

Day 12

Today I was watching Sportscenter all day, waiting for Dwight Howard to make a decision. I'm glad that superman is coming to Houston! While I was watching that, I was also on Facebook and checking other sites for the latest rumors about Howard.

Day 11

I watched Sportscenter a lot today because I am waiting to if Dwight Howard signs with the Rockets. I texted a couple friends about it and checked my phone for updates. I looked on espn.com for more information too. Aside from that, I was on Facebook and Youtube.

Day 10

Today when I woke up I checked my phone for texts and watched Sportscenter. I only checked my Facebook a few times throughout the day. I read some tweets on Twitter and watched a couple videos on Youtube. I listened to the radio on the way to the stores and watched America's Got Talent.

Day 9

Today I checked Facebook around 15 times and texted a few friends. I also listened to my mp3 player application on my phone. I watched the Astros on tv and wrote a couple research papers on Microsoft Word.

Day 8

I woke up to my alarm set on my phone today. I saw that I had a couple texts so I replied to them. I then checked my Facebook as usual and watched tv for a little bit. Later on I went to my brother's place and played a couple video games and watched some movies on his 3d tv. When I came home I watched a few videos on Youtube and then fell asleep.
